This pendant began with a single photograph — a magnolia blossom I came across on an ordinary walk, its petals so quietly luminous that I knew I had to try to hold that moment in metal.
The flower is hand-formed in fine silver with a soft satin finish, capturing the magnolia's characteristic curve and weight — each petal shaped individually to feel alive rather than symmetrical or stiff. Behind it, a circle of oxidized sterling silver is pierced by hand with flowing scrollwork, deepened to black so the pale blossom seems to glow against the darkness. The calyx and stem are fashioned in copper, left to develop its own warm patina over time — a small, living detail that will continue to change with the piece.
The bail is formed as a gently curving flourish, echoing the same organic line that runs through the piece as a whole.
There's a quiet kind of confidence in choosing a piece like this — something shaped by hand rather than stamped from a mold, something no one else in the room is wearing. It doesn't announce itself the way a logo or a large stone might. Instead, it speaks in a different language, one that people who understand craft will recognize immediately, and that's precisely the point. Wearing it says something about how you see beauty: not as something to display, but as something to notice — quietly, in the curve of a petal or the shadow of hand-cut scrollwork. It's jewelry for someone who would rather be asked "where did you find this?" than complimented on a brand they already know.
