Background Story

Ivy is a common motif in Japanese traditional metal works.

And I see many colonies of ivy, cultured or wild, around my house.

Therefore it’s a close motif for me personally, too.

I used two patina techniques here.

One is Japanese patina technique called Iroage, that makes copper brown.

The other is los patina that makes sterling black.

The combination of brown and black, I hope, makes the piece look like an old one that has been inherited for long time.

I didn’t apply a chane for this piece. Instead of it I applied a piece of cord and some beads so that it could have a kind of mood somehow oriental.
