Traditional Japanese Techniques Hido and Iroage showcase Autumn Leaves and Fruit Necklace - Copper, Brass, and Shibuichi
$600.00

This exquisite handcrafted pendant captures the essence of autumn through masterful metalworking and traditional Japanese techniques.
The artistic composition features a delicate branch adorned with leaves and fruit, each element created using distinct methods to achieve natural coloration and texture.

The striking red fruit showcases copper treated with red heat patina using the Hido technique, creating a lustrous crimson finish that catches the light beautifully.
Complementing this is a golden fruit crafted with Keum Boo, a traditional gold gilding technique that bonds pure gold to the silver surface.

The larger leaf demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship, made from special brass with copper inlay and finished using Iroage, a traditional Japanese patination method that has transformed it into a warm ocher tone.
The branch itself is crafted from matching brass, treated to achieve rich brown hues that evoke natural wood.

Adding subtle contrast, the smaller leaf is forged from Shibuichi, a traditional Japanese alloy of copper and silver, which has been patinated gray through the Iroage process, creating an authentic weathered appearance.

This unique piece represents the convergence of various metalworking traditions - Japanese Iroage patination, Keum Boo gilding, and specialized copper treatments.
The result is a wearable work of art that celebrates nature's beauty through the skilled application of time-honored techniques.

Suspended on a dark chain, this pendant makes a striking statement piece for those who appreciate artisanal jewelry and the subtle beauty of natural forms rendered in precious metals.
